Terms of Use

Article 1: (Scope)
These terms stipulate the service content, usage conditions, and related matters of the "Meitetsu Web Reservation Service" (hereafter, "the Service") as provided by Nagoya Railroad Co., Ltd. (hereafter, "Nagoya Railroad"). Matters not stipulated in these terms shall be as stipulated in Nagoya Railroad's passenger service rules and other regulations.
Article 2: (Definitions)

The main terminology used in these terms is defined in the following numbered items.

  1. "User" refers to all customers who, having agreed to these terms, use the Service.
  2. "Member" refers to any User who, having agreed to these terms, has undertaken the Member registration procedures on the dedicated Web site and whose registration has been approved by Nagoya Railroad.
  3. "Guest" refers to all Users who, having agreed to these terms, use the Service without undertaking Member registration procedures.
  4. "Dedicated Web site" refers to the Web site for the Service.
  5. "Web first class car ticket" refers to a first class car ticket (including a transfer μ-ticket) that is required to use first class cars, which is purchased by connecting to the Service's computer system, and the information of which is stored on the servers of that system. The purchase fee for first class cars specified in this paragraph shall be 450 yen, or 300 yen when the separately prescribed off-peak discount price applies. Other discount prices may also apply during campaigns, etc.
  6. "Web First class car ticket information" refers to the information of the Web First class car ticket purchased through the Service (date of travel, train, car number, seat, and travel zone), and which is printed or displayed on a smartphone, etc.
  7. "Purchase" refers to the series of procedures from selecting the date of travel to the completion of the transaction.
  8. "Date of travel" refers to the date of departure of the scheduled train. However, for trains departing from after midnight until the last train, the previous day's date is used.
  9. "Scheduled train" refers to the train that the User intends to board.
  10. "Smartphone, etc." refers to a device such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer that is capable of accessing the Internet and that can properly connect to the dedicated Web site.
  11. "Member information" refers to the information input by the Member on the dedicated Web site when undertaking Member registration procedures, including name, email address, telephone number, etc.
  12. "Login" refers to the process by which the Member accesses his or her Member personal page by inputting his or her email address and password on the login screen of the dedicated Web site.
  13. "Login information" refers to the Member's email address and password.
  14. "Guest information" refers to the information input by the Guest on the dedicated Web site when purchasing a Web First class car ticket, including name, email address, telephone number, etc.
  15. "Guest purchase information" refers to the Guest's purchase number, date of travel, and email address.
  16. "Security code" refers to the three-digit number or four-digit number shown on the back, etc. of the credit card. (It does not refer to the credit card number.)
  17. "Premium member" refers to a member that has boarded with Web first class car tickets for 30 or more seats from the 21st day of the previous month to the 20th day of the current month, who, from the first day of the next month to the last day of the next month, is eligible to purchase Web first class car tickets 10 days earlier than usual (which is normally one month in advance).
  18. "Meitetsu μ's Points" (hereafter, "Points") refer to the reward points granted to a Meitetsu μ's Points Service member (hereafter,"Meitetsu μ's member").
  19. "Points linking" refers to the process whereby Meitetsu μ's members register a Meitetsu μ's ID or manaca ID on the Service screen and pay for Web first class car tickets using Points.
  20. "Purchase for multiple days" refers to purchasing tickets for up to 10 days of the same train seat on the same type of day (weekday or weekend/holiday) at a time. A multiple-day ticket can only be purchased for one person at a time.
  21. "Off-peak discount price" refers to the price that applies when using the Service to purchase a ticket for a train that departs from the boarding station on a weekend/holiday or between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:59 p.m. on a weekday. However, this price does not apply when departing from or arriving at Central Japan International Airport station.
Article 3: (Services the User may use)
  1. The User may use the services described in the following numbered items by using the Service with a smartphone, etc.
    1. Purchase, change, or refund Web First class car ticket;
    2. Use credit card to pay Web First class car ticket fees (hereafter, "fees"); and
    3. For a member that has performed Points linking, pay all fees with each point equivalent to one yen.
    4. Board a designated first class car by carrying the Web First class car ticket information without receiving a First class car ticket from a ticket window or similar.
  2. No guarantee is provided (in the past, present, or future) that the Service will work on every smartphone, etc. Also, depending on the model of smartphone used by the User, some or all of the services of the preceding paragraph may not be available.
  3. Nagoya Railroad shall bear no responsibility for damages, etc. ensuing from the circumstances of the preceding paragraph.
Article 4: (Service hours)
  1. The Service shall be offered between the hours of 5:10 a.m. and 12:15 a.m. the next day.
  2. The times stated in the preceding paragraph may change without prior notice due to system maintenance or other causes.
  3. Should the service hours be exceeded while the User is undertaking purchase procedures, the purchase may not be completed.
Article 5: (Member registration)
  1. Member registration for the Service is undertaken with the agreement to these terms and according to the Member registration procedures stipulated by Nagoya Railroad. At this time, the Member registration applicant (hereafter, "the Applicant") shall provide Nagoya Railroad with accurate Member information.
  2. The Member registration procedures are as follows.
    1. The Applicant inputs his or her own email address on the page for new Member registrations on the dedicated Web site;
    2. Nagoya Railroad sends a URL for Member registration procedures to the email address of the preceding item. However, if the email address of the preceding item is incorrect, the Applicant will be unable to receive the URL for the Member registration procedures, and Member registration will not be possible; and
    3. The Applicant accesses the Member registration procedures URL sent by Nagoya Railroad and enters his or her Member information. After this, Nagoya Railroad will send a registration completed email to complete Member registration.
  3. Within 12 hours of the sending of the email of Item 2 of the preceding paragraph by Nagoya Railroad, the Applicant shall access the Member registration procedures URL and complete the Member registration procedures. If the Member registration procedures are not completed within said time frame, the procedures of the preceding paragraph must be repeated.
Article 6: (Login information management)
  1. Login information shall only be used by the Member him- or herself, and shall not be used by a third party who is not that Member.
  2. The Member shall take responsibility for managing his or her own login information so that it does not become known to other persons.
  3. The Member shall assume all responsibility and Nagoya Railroad shall bear no responsibility for damages incurred due to the divulgence, etc. of login information by the Member, whether through intent or negligence, except in cases where fault is attributable to the company.
  4. In the case that login information is stolen or divulged, the Member shall immediately inform Nagoya Railroad of such circumstances and follow the instructions of Nagoya Railroad.
  5. In the case that the Member forgets his or her login information, login shall no longer be possible.
  6. If at the time of login, the Member incorrectly inputs the password a specified number of times, login shall no longer be possible (hereafter, this circumstance is referred to as a "locked account".) If a locked account occurs, an email shall be automatically sent to the Member's registered email address. The Member may unlock the locked account by performing the operations described in said email.
Article 7: (Cancel membership)
  1. The Member may cancel his or her membership in the Service by following the procedures prescribed on the dedicated Web site. However, it is not possible to cancel membership if the Member has a valid train reservation that has yet to be used, or on the same day as the date of travel. Also, in the case in which the operation of the Service is suspended or cancelled at Nagoya Railroad's own discretion in whole or in part, canceling membership may not be possible.
  2. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the procedures to cancel membership on the dedicated Web site may not be possible, depending on the type or usage condition of the Member's registered credit card.
  3. If membership is canceled while processing a refund for a Web first class car ticket, the refund may not be possible.
  4. If a Meitetsu μ's member that has performed Points linking cancels their Meitetsu μ's membership after making a purchase with Points, the Web first class car ticket purchased with Points may not be able to be refunded or have its train changed.
Article 8: (Period of validity for membership privileges)
The period of validity for membership privileges shall be the date 1 year from the last date of use (the day of the last login). If there is no login after the period of validity, Nagoya Railroad shall be able to cancel the membership privileges of said Member.
Article 9: (Canceling membership privileges)
  1. If any of the following numbered items apply to the Member, Nagoya Railroad shall be able to immediately cancel membership privileges without prior notification to said Member, and notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding Article.
    1. Member commits any prohibited items of Article 28;
    2. Member contravenes the provisions of these terms, or other passenger service rules, etc. stipulated by Nagoya Railroad, or laws, etc.;
    3. Member loses the capacity to hold rights due to death or other reason:
    4. Actual facts differ from those in the Member information;
    5. Nagoya Railroad can no longer make contact with the Member, due to a change in email address or other reason; or
    6. In cases other than the preceding numbered items, when Nagoya Railroad deems it difficult to continue the membership due to improper membership or the ending of the Service.
  2. In the case that Nagoya Railroad cancels membership privileges due to the provisions of the preceding paragraph, said Member loses all rights to the Service and services related to the Service. In this case, Nagoya Railroad shall bear no responsibility for damages incurred by the Member due to the loss of such rights.
Article 10: (Inputting guest information)
When a Guest uses the Service, the Guest shall agree to these terms and input accurate Guest information on the dedicated Web site.
Article 11: (Managing guest purchase information)
  1. The Guest shall be responsible for managing Guest purchase information so that it does not become known to a third party.
  2. The Guest shall assume all responsibility and Nagoya Railroad shall bear no responsibility for damages incurred due to the divulgence, etc. of purchase information by the Guest, whether through intent or negligence, except in cases where fault is attributable to the company.
  3. If the Guest forgets his or her Guest purchase information, it may become impossible to inquire about or change the Web First class car ticket purchase information or refund the purchase, etc.
Article 12: (Handling User information)
  1. Nagoya Railroad shall appropriately handle Member information and Guest information, as well as associated records of use of the Service, etc. (hereafter, "User information") according to Nagoya Railroad's guideline for protection of personal information and Nagoya Railroad's own regulations.
  2. The User agrees to allow Nagoya Railroad to use User information for the following purposes.
    1. For the provision of the Service and services appertaining to the Service;
    2. For handling refund applications stipulated in Article 23, and for other communications to provide information in emergencies, etc. before or after the use of the Service (including after a Member has canceled membership);
    3. To provide information about adding new services as part of the Service, benefits relating to the service, or other information related to the Service;
    4. To perform statistical analysis of usage trends of the Service and other businesses operated by Nagoya Railroad, and use the information gained thereof;
    5. To provide the information gained in the preceding item to third parties, after the information has been processed so as to make it not possible to identify individual users;
    6. To develop new future services to be deployed by Nagoya Railroad, either related to the Service or other services;
    7. For market surveys, product development, etc. undertaken by Nagoya Railroad;
    8. To provide information regarding existing and new businesses operated by Nagoya Railroad or Nagoya Railroad group companies, via direct mail, included in mail magazines, Web site banners, or other distribution methods; or
    9. To link registered information to services provided by Nagoya Railroad (CentX Web Ticket, etc.) that the Member uses separately.
  3. Nagoya Railroad provides user information to Nagoya Railroad group companies, Web ticket sales companies, and companies administering external content, and compares it with user information held by those and other companies for the purpose of analyzing user preferences and attributes and performing targeted marketing, as well as other purposes of use indicated in the preceding paragraph.
  4. After undertaking all protective measures, Nagoya Railroad may share user information only within the scope necessary for achieving the role and purpose of each company, as described in the following items.

      Individual applicable companies are subject to change. A list of applicable companies and their businesses can be found on the home page.
    3. Purposes of shared use information
      (a) To provide information about new services and benefits offered by Nagoya Railroad group companies, and information related to the same;
      (b) To perform statistical analysis of usage trends of the Service and other businesses operated by Nagoya Railroad group companies, and use the information gained thereof;
      (c) To provide the information gained in the preceding item to third parties, after the information has been processed so as to make it not possible to identify individual users;
      (d) For market surveys, product development, etc. undertaken by Nagoya Railroad group companies;
      (e) To provide information regarding existing and new businesses operated by Nagoya Railroad group companies, via direct mail, included in mail magazines, Web site banners, or other distribution methods; or
      (f) To link information when a Member, while using a separate service offered by Nagoya Railroad, and with the Member's prior consent, purchases products or services, etc. from Nagoya Railroad group companies.
    4. Responsibility for management of shared use information
      Nagoya Railroad Co., Ltd.
  5. The User agrees to allow Nagoya Railroad to disclose User information to third parties such as outsourcing companies, etc. within the scope required to operate the Service.
  6. In the case that Nagoya Railroad deems that the User will disadvantage a third party, Nagoya Railroad may provide the User's information to said third party, or the police or relevant agency.
  7. If Nagoya Railroad is requested to disclose User information by a court, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the police, the bar association, a consumer center, or other agency with equivalent authority, Nagoya Railroad may disclose the User information in response to such request.
  8. When the Guest purchases a Web First class car ticket for a third person, the Guest shall be deemed to have obtained prior consent for the notification of the said third party's personal information to Nagoya Railroad.
Article 13: (Notification of changes)
  1. When a change occurs to information provided by the User to Nagoya Railroad relating to the Service, the User shall promptly notify Nagoya Railroad by procedures stipulated by Nagoya Railroad.
  2. Nagoya Railroad shall bear no responsibility for any damages incurred through the use of the Service that are caused by changed information that is incorrect or not properly notified, except in cases where fault is attributable to the company.
Article 14: (Purchase of Web First class car tickets)

Handling of Web First class car tickets purchased through the Service shall be as described in the following numbered items.

  1. The purchase availability period shall be from 5:10 a.m., one month prior to the date of travel (separately prescribed for premium members), up until one minute prior to the departure time of the scheduled train displayed on the timetable (hereafter, "time limit"). Should the time limit be exceeded while the User is undertaking purchase procedures, the purchase may not be completed. The time limit for a transfer μ-ticket is up until one minute prior to the departure time of the first train.
  2. Tickets can be purchased for a maximum of eight persons at one time, or a maximum of 10 days for one person when purchasing tickets for multiple days.
  3. Nagoya Railroad shall be able to change the maximum limit stipulated in the preceding item without prior notification to the User.
  4. When the purchase procedures are completed, Nagoya Railroad shall inform the User as such by email. The purchase is complete the moment Nagoya Railroad sends this email.
  5. The price of a transfer μ-ticket is equal to the fee for one regular ride with the first train and second train together.
  6. The transfer stations of a transfer μ-ticket are the following five stations indicated below in (a) to (e). Therefore, the transfer stations may differ on the return trip.
    (a) If a station beyond Horita in the Chiryū direction or beyond Toyodahommachi in the Ōtagawa direction is the first boarding station, the transfer station shall be Jingū-mae.
    (b) If a station beyond Sakō in the Kōnomiya direction or the Iwakura direction is the first boarding station, the transfer station shall be Kanayama, except in case (c).
    (c) When transferring between stations beyond Sakō in the Kōnomiya direction or the Iwakura direction, the transfer station shall be Meitetsu Nagoya, but not between the Nagoya Line and Tsushima Line.
    (d) When transferring between a station beyond Utō in the Higashi Okazaki direction and a station on the Nishio Line, the transfer station shall be Shin Anjō.
    (e) When transferring between a station beyond Owari Yokosuka in the Tokoname direction and a station on the Kōwa Line or Chita New Line, the transfer station shall be Ōtagawa.
  7. The transfer time at the transfer station of a transfer μ-ticket must be between 4 minutes to 60 minutes. Furthermore, for trains having a transfer time of less than 4 minutes, they may be issued for sale after taking into consideration the layout and circumstances of the transfer station.
  8. When the first train of a transfer μ-ticket meets the conditions stipulated in Article 2, Paragraph 21, the off-peak discount price applies.
Article 15: (Seat specification)

Seat number specification can be undertaken by selecting a seat on the dedicated Web site chart (hereafter, "seating chart"). However, handling of seat number specifications shall be according to the following numbered items.

  1. Only seats that can be selected on the seating chart can be specified.
  2. The time period during which a seat number can be specified shall be the purchase time period as stipulated in Article 14, Paragraph 1, above. However, when seats are scarce, the seating chart may not be available even during the purchase period.
  3. The securing of seats may not be processed properly on the system due to multiple Users selecting the same seat at the same time or for other reasons. In such cases, it may be impossible to secure the selected seat.
  4. When purchasing a single Web First class car ticket only, instead of using the seating chart, Users may use the "Specify Car", "Prefer Window", or "Prefer Aisle" options. However, if the desired seat cannot be secured, an alternative seat is not secured and a message such as "Seat could not be secured" is shown.
  5. When purchasing multiple Web First class car tickets, selected seats must be in the same car of the same train. (It is not possible to select different trains or cars.)
Article 16: (Payment)
  1. The User shall pay the fees by a credit card and payment method stipulated by Nagoya Railroad. Furthermore, Nagoya Railroad shall be able to specify or change the available credit card or payment method without prior notification to the User.
  2. Users who cannot make payment with the method specified by Nagoya Railroad cannot purchase Web first class car tickets via the Service.
  3. When purchasing Web first class car tickets via the Service, another payment method such as cash cannot be used at the same time.
Article 17: (Payment by credit card)
  1. Using the prescribed operations, the User inputs the necessary particulars relating to his or her credit card (hereafter, "credit card input") to pay the fees using credit card payment.
  2. The items required for the credit card input are the name on the card (in Latin alphabet), the card number, the card expiry date, and the security code (some cards excepted).
  3. There are five credit card brands that can be used for the Service. These are Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, and Diners Club.
  4. Payment of fees for the Service occurs the instant the "Purchase" button is pressed on the purchase screen of the dedicated Web site. Once a purchase is made, it cannot be cancelled, etc. After payment, the amount of the fees is withdrawn in full from the credit card account on the credit card company's day of settlement (payment in installments is not possible).
  5. When a dispute arises between the User and a credit card company or third party in connection with the use of this Service, the User shall resolve the dispute at his or her own responsibility and cost, and shall not cause any damages whatsoever to Nagoya Railroad. Also, Nagoya Railroad shall bear no responsibility for any damages incurred by the User arising from or related to any such dispute, except in cases where fault is attributable to the company.
  6. In the case that Nagoya Railroad incurs damages due to or related to a dispute between the User and a credit card company, the user shall be responsible for compensating Nagoya Railroad for those damages.
  7. If any of the following numbered items applies, Nagoya Railroad shall be able to cancel a credit card payment made via credit card input without prior notification to the User.
    1. Nagoya Railroad receives notification from the credit card company that the credit card that was input is invalid;
    2. Nagoya Railroad receives notification from the credit card company that the credit card that was input is being misused, etc.; or
    3. Any other reason Nagoya Railroad deems necessary for the operation of the Service.
Article 18: (Payment with Points)
Points can only be used when a member that has performed Points linking pays all fees of the ticket they are attempting to purchase with Points.
Article 19: (Timing of contract establishment and applicable provisions)
  1. The contract for this Service shall be established at the moment Nagoya Railroad sends the purchase information email to the User after the User operates his or her smartphone, etc. to undertake purchase procedures for a Web First class car ticket, the Nagoya Railroad system confirms the seat number, etc., and the purchase is processed. (The same conditions apply in the case of a refund.)
  2. From the moment the contract is established as described in the preceding paragraph, the passenger service rules and other Nagoya Railroad provisions at the time of the contract establishment shall apply to the relationship between Nagoya Railroad and the User in the context of the Service, unless otherwise stipulated.
Article 20: (Boarding First Class Cars)
  1. The User shall use the stipulated seat on the train shown on the Web First class car ticket.
  2. In the case where the User uses the Service to board a First class car, the User shall carry Web First class car ticket information valid for that train, and show that information when requested by Nagoya Railroad staff.
  3. In the case that the User is not carrying the Web First class car ticket information, or at boarding does not show the Web First class car ticket information when requested by Nagoya Railroad staff due to reasons such as a malfunction or dead battery in the smartphone, etc., Nagoya Railroad staff may request the name, etc. of the User. If Nagoya Railroad staff cannot confirm a valid Web First class car ticket for boarding, the User shall purchase a First class car ticket by cash separately. In this case, said Web First class car ticket shall not be refunded.
  4. If a Web first class car ticket valid for boarding cannot be checked due to fault attributable to the company, a first class car ticket purchased on the train using cash (a ticket purchased on board) shall be able to be refunded without service charge by presenting the duplicate Web first class car ticket and ticket purchased on board at a station ticket window, etc.
Article 21: (Changes before start of use)

When making changes to a Web first class car ticket purchased via the Service before the start of use (limited to such changes not accompanying an increase in the number of purchased tickets), the following numbered items shall apply.

  1. The User shall be able to change the date of travel, travel zone, and seat for Web first class car tickets by undertaking the prescribed procedures on the Service's system.
  2. The changes specified in the preceding item must be made before the time limit of the train prior to the change, and before the time limit of the train after the change, and only if the train after the change has available seats. When a transfer μ-ticket is changed, the time limit for the train before change and train after change refers to the time limit of the first train, and a change is only possible if first class car seats are available in both the first train and second train.
  3. There is no service charge the first two times the changes stipulated in Item 1 are undertaken. If multiple changes are undertaken at the same time according to the prescribed procedures on the Service's system, those changes may be deemed to count as one time.
  4. For a ticket purchased using Points, if Meitetsu μ's membership is canceled before boarding, the ticket cannot be changed to that for a train with a different fee.
  5. When changing a ticket purchased using Points to a ticket for a train with a different fee, the ticket cannot be changed if the number of remaining Points is fewer than the difference in the fee for the new train.
  6. With regard to the third and subsequent changes, the purchased Web First class car ticket shall be temporarily refunded according to Article 22, and a new one purchased.
  7. When the purchase procedures are completed, notification shall be made by email. The changes are complete the moment the email is sent.
  8. The User him- or herself shall dispose of or delete the defunct Web First class car ticket information from prior to the change.
Article 22: (Refunding a Web First class car ticket before the time limit)
  1. In the case that the User no longer requires the Web First class car ticket (in the case of multiple tickets, all or some of them; the same applies hereafter in this Article and Article 23), the User may claim a refund for said Web First class car ticket by undertaking the prescribed procedures on the Service's system any time from completion of the purchase up to the time limit of said ticket, unless the circumstances stipulated in Article 23 apply.
  2. When the User claims a refund as indicated in the preceding paragraph, Nagoya Railroad shall levy the refund service charge prescribed in the passenger service rules to the credit card and refund the fees for the refunded tickets to the credit card used for payment. For tickets purchased using Points, the refund service charge shall be levied to the credit card, and the fees for the refunded tickets shall be refunded as Points.
  3. When refunding the ticket, if there is no valid credit card registered to pay for the service charge of the preceding paragraph, or if for any reason the credit card company refuses the payment, the refund cannot be given. If a Meitetsu μ's member cancels their Meitetsu μ's membership before claiming a refund, Web first class car tickets purchased with Points shall not be able to be refunded.
  4. In the case that any of the following numbered items apply, Nagoya Railroad shall process a refund of the Web First class car ticket, and refund the fees for the purchased number of tickets to the credit card used for payment. For tickets purchased using Points, the fees for the refunded tickets shall be refunded as Points. In either case, refund service charges shall not be levied.
    1. When the scheduled train suspends operation, or stops operating at a station on the route, and so prevents the User from traveling the ticketed route, in whole or in part. However, if the User him- or herself undertook refund procedures before Nagoya Railroad decided to suspend operations, the refund service charges cannot be returned; or
    2. When the scheduled train is delayed by 1 hour or more.
  5. When the refund process is completed, the User shall be informed as such by email. It may take some time to return the money to the User after the refund has been processed.
  6. After the User receives the notification of the preceding paragraph, he or she shall promptly dispose of or delete the Web First class car ticket information that has been refunded.
Article 23: (Refund of Web First class car tickets after the time limit)
  1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph 1 of the preceding Article, in certain and restricted circumstances accepted by Nagoya Railroad, such as cases in which the User is unable to transfer to the scheduled train due to delays of a train on a Nagoya Railroad line, the User may undertake the prescribed procedures on the Service's system after the time limit to apply for a refund to Nagoya Railroad for the Web First class car ticket (hereafter, "refund application"). The refund application period begins the day after the date of travel and extends for one year.
  2. If the User submits a refund application, Nagoya Railroad shall review the application information, and if as a result a refund is to be paid, Nagoya Railroad shall issue the refund to the credit card used by the User to pay the fees for the purchased tickets. For tickets purchased using Points, the fees for the purchased tickets shall be refunded as Points. However, depending on the reason for the application, a refund service charge specified in Nagoya Railroad's passenger service rules may be charged, or the refund refused.
  3. The refund service charge referred to in the preceding paragraph is handled according to Paragraphs 2 and 3 of the preceding Article.
  4. For tickets purchased using Points, if a Meitetsu μ's member cancels their Meitetsu μ's membership before claiming a refund, the tickets shall not be able to be refunded.
  5. Nagoya Railroad shall inform the User of the result of the review of the refund application by email.
Article 24: (Cases in which a Web First class car ticket becomes invalid)

A Web First class car ticket loses its validity when any of the following numbered items apply.

  1. When Web First class car ticket information is modified and then used;
  2. When a Web First class car ticket is improperly used;
  3. When a Web First class car ticket is purchased and any of the prohibited items stipulated in Article 28 are contravened; or
  4. Other provisions of these terms are contravened.
Article 25: (User Internet usage environment)
The Service is provided on the premise that the dedicated Web site is displayed properly in accordance with the specifications prescribed by Nagoya Railroad. Nagoya Railroad shall bear no responsibility for damages incurred by Users due to defective displays of the Web first class car ticket information or other malfunctions of their smartphone, etc., caused by the settings environment or circumstances of their telecommunications carrier, etc., except in cases where fault is attributable to the company.
Article 26: (Telecommunications costs related to the Service)
Telecommunications costs, etc. for the smartphone, etc. used for the Service shall be borne by the User.
Article 27: (Outsourcing operations related to the Service)
  1. Nagoya Railroad shall be able to outsource, in whole or in part, the Service or operations related to the Service to third parties designated by Nagoya Railroad.
  2. In the circumstances of the preceding paragraph, said third party shall be able to inherit the position of Nagoya Railroad with regard to the Service and operations related to the Service, and information possessed by Nagoya Railroad, and the content of the Service, in whole or in part. In this case, the User agrees to allow the company, etc. inheriting the operations to use the information possessed by Nagoya Railroad in operations relating to the Service.
Article 28: (Prohibited items)

The User shall not commit any of the actions described in the following numbered items when using the Service. If the User commits any of the actions in the following numbered items, Nagoya Railroad shall be able to refuse the use of the Service, regardless of reason. Nagoya Railroad shall bear no responsibility for any damages incurred by the User for such refusal, except in cases where fault is attributable to the company.

  1. Purchasing a Web First class car ticket without the intent to board the train, for the purpose of reselling, etc. the ticket;
  2. Acts that infringe on the property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of Nagoya Railroad or a third party, or acts that threaten to do the same;
  3. Acts that contravene public order and decency, or acts that threaten to do the same;
  4. Acts that are illegal or acts that lead to illegal acts, or acts that threaten to do the same;
  5. Registering or sending information contrary to the facts, or altering or deleting registered information;
  6. Making false or misleading reports or notifications against Nagoya Railroad;
  7. Acts intended to make business profits through the Service, or engaging in preparations to do the same;
  8. Acts that damage the credit of the Service, or acts that threaten to do the same;
  9. Acts that hinder the administration of the Service, or acts that threaten to do the same;
  10. Use of a credit card for the Service while in contravention of the contract between the credit card company and the User;
  11. Improper use of login information, or acts that threaten to do the same;
  12. Using or providing harmful programs such as computer viruses, etc. against the dedicated Web site, or acts that threaten to do the same;
  13. Other acts that contravene the law, or acts that threaten to do the same;
  14. Encouraging or promoting any of the acts stipulated in the preceding numbered items; or
  15. Other acts deemed inappropriate by Nagoya Railroad.
Article 29: (Changes to these terms)
  1. Nagoya Railroad shall be able to change the content of these terms without prior notice to the User. Changes shall be shown on the dedicated Web site. The User shall be deemed to agree to the changes to these terms the instant said User uses the Service after the changes are shown.
  2. Nagoya Railroad shall bear no responsibility for damages, etc. ensuing from the changes described in the preceding paragraph, except in cases where fault is attributable to the company.
Article 30: (Changing/suspending/ending the Service)
  1. Nagoya Railroad shall be able to change the content of the Service due to Nagoya Railroad's circumstances. Also, Nagoya Railroad shall be able to end the Service due to Nagoya Railroad's circumstances, but in this case, Nagoya Railroad shall provide prior notification on the dedicated Web site. In such cases, Nagoya Railroad shall bear no responsibility for any damages, loss, or disadvantage (including lost opportunity and secondary and derivative losses; the same applies hereafter) incurred by the User or third parties, except in cases where fault is attributable to the company.
  2. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, if any of the following reasons apply, Nagoya Railroad may suspend or end the Service in whole or in part without prior notification to the User. In such cases, Nagoya Railroad shall bear no responsibility for any damages, loss, or disadvantage incurred by the User or third parties, except in cases where fault is attributable to the company.
    1. System maintenance inspection or update, either periodic or emergency;
    2. War, civil unrest, earthquake, fire, power shortage, or other unusual circumstances that make provision of the Service difficult;
    3. Telecommunications carriers failing to provide their service (system breakdown, etc.); or
    4. Other reasons either operational or technological that make it necessary to temporarily suspend or end the Service, or that are deemed to make it difficult to offer the Service.
Article 31: (Exclusion of liability)
  1. Nagoya Railroad shall bear no responsibility whatsoever when any of the following numbered items apply in relation to the Service, except in cases where fault is attributable to the company.
    1. Disadvantage incurred by the User or third parties due to User information that differs from the facts;
    2. Disadvantage incurred by the User or third parties due to Nagoya Railroad taking necessary measures that change, suspend or end the Service, or limit access to the Service;
    3. Disadvantage incurred by the User or third parties due to Nagoya Railroad changing customer center telephone numbers, operating hours, etc.
    4. Disadvantage incurred by the User or third parties due to the Service being used outside the Service's usage environment, or any problems with telecommunication conditions or the telecommunication devices, software, or settings environment of the User's smartphone, etc.;
    5. Disadvantage incurred by the User or third parties due to leaks of transaction information such as email address or password through eavesdropping or the like on the telecommunication route, despite countermeasures undertaken by Nagoya Railroad that are reasonable under socially accepted conventions;
    6. Disadvantage incurred by the User or third parties due to viruses that could not be removed attached to email sent by Nagoya Railroad, despite countermeasures undertaken by Nagoya Railroad that are reasonable under socially accepted conventions;
    7. Disadvantage incurred by the User or third parties due to an inability to use the Service caused by maintenance, damage, etc. of a credit card company's systems;
    8. Disadvantage incurred by the User or third parties due to an inability to use the Service caused by measures undertaken by a credit card company;
    9. Disadvantage incurred by the User or third parties due to an inability to use the Service caused by a failure to update on the dedicated Web site the information of a credit card used for payment before the expiration date of that credit card;
    10. Disadvantage incurred by the User or third parties due to the User contravening these terms, or other passenger service rules, etc. stipulated by Nagoya Railroad, or laws, etc.; or
    11. Disadvantage incurred by the User when a car of a type other than that the seat was purchased for was operated due to circumstances that arose after the Web first class car ticket was purchased
    12. Any other disadvantage incurred by the User or third parties due to this Service, despite due caution paid by Nagoya Railroad that is reasonable under socially accepted conventions.
  2. If the User contravenes these terms, or other passenger service rules, etc. stipulated by Nagoya Railroad, or laws, etc. and causes damages to Nagoya Railroad or third parties, the User shall be responsible for compensation for those damages.
  3. If the Service causes damages to the User, Nagoya Railroad shall be responsible for compensation for those damages if fault is attributable to the company. However, except in cases where damages were caused through the intent or negligence of Nagoya Railroad, compensation shall be limited to the amount that the User paid via the Service up to one month prior to the date that the damages occurred.
Article 32: (Exclusion of antisocial forces)
  1. The User declares that he or she, or his or her agent or intermediary, is not now an organized crime group, a member of an organized crime group, a member of an organized crime group within the last five years, an associate member of an organized crime group, an organized crime group affiliated company, a “sokaiya” racketeer group, a group engaging in criminal activities under the pretext of conducting social campaigns or political activities, a crime group specialized in intellectual crimes, or other corresponding person or organization (hereafter, "antisocial forces"), and affirms that none of the following numbered items apply now nor in the future.
    1. Recognized as having involvement with antisocial forces;
    2. Recognized as improperly using antisocial forces with the aim of gaining unjust profit for oneself or a third party, or inflicting harm on a third party; or
    3. Recognized as having involvement in providing finances, etc. or other convenience, etc. to antisocial forces.
  2. If the User or his or her agent or intermediary is found to be a member of antisocial forces in contravention of the preceding paragraph's declaration or in contravention of that paragraph's numbered items, Nagoya Railroad shall be able to refuse use of the Service without any notice. Nagoya Railroad shall bear no responsibility for any damages incurred by the User for such refusal.
Article 33: (Applicable laws)
Japanese law shall apply to and govern the establishment, validity, implementation, and interpretation of these terms.
Article 34: (Negotiation and settling disputes)
If an unsolved problem arises between the User and Nagoya Railroad regarding the Service, both parties shall negotiate in good faith to solve the dispute. If the problem is not solved through negotiation, the Nagoya District Court or the Nagoya Summary Court shall be the exclusive court of jurisdiction of the first instance.
Article 35: (Validity of these terms)
These terms are valid as of Jun 1, 2024.
Article 36: (Translations of these terms)
These terms are written in Japanese, but Nagoya Railroad will post translated versions of these terms on the Service's Web site as a reference. However, the Japanese version of these terms remains the official version, and the translations are for reference only. In the case of contradiction, difference, or inconsistency in the language between the Japanese terms and the translated terms, the phrasing and interpretation, etc. of the Japanese terms shall take precedence.
